The Etar Museum boasts a collection of operating water facilities unique for Bulgaria. The collection features ten sites and is one of the most comprehensive and well-organized of its kind in Europe. A ticket with a creative experience From the Woollen Thread to the Tunic & Breeches includes a thematic tour of the water facilities used in the past for processing wool (tepavitsa and valyavitsa water mills, a braid making workshop); an introduction to a few home occupations which used to be part of the process of making clothes in the past, as well as participation in a demonstration of choice – weaving on a small loom, making felt or braided decoration, or working with a pyrograph on distaffs and crooks.
Price per pupil/student – BGN 12
Time to make one article – approximately half an hour
Prior booking is required at least 7 days before the date of visit.
If a visitor wishes, within one visit to the museum to be introduced to more than one craft, home occupation, or in case of combination of tickets with some experience between them, a discount of 20% of quoted prices is applied. During visits of groups of more than 20 people or for tour operators with a contract with the museum, a discount of BGN 2 per person is applied.
